Note: This comparison is based on NordPass’s and Keeper’s official pricing pages, security pages and documentation, all checked on September 27, 2026. We did not run hands-on benchmarks, so there are no invented speed or autofill test numbers here. Both vendors change prices and promos, so confirm on their sites before you buy.
Short answer:
- Pick NordPass for a cheap, simple personal or family password manager. Premium costs $1.39–$1.99/month on promo terms, and breach scanning is included. Its free plan is also more usable than Keeper’s.
- Pick Keeper if you are a developer or run IT for a team. It has an open-source CLI (Keeper Commander), a dedicated Secrets Manager for CI/CD, and SCIM, SAML SSO and REST APIs on its $6 per user/month Enterprise plan. Personal users pay more ($3.58/month), and dark-web monitoring is a paid add-on.

Notes on the numbers:
- NordPass’s personal prices are introductory. Its plans page shows $80.73 (2-year) and $35.88 (1-year) as the pre-discount prices, and prices exclude VAT.
- Keeper’s free plan starts after a 30-day trial ends. It keeps working on one mobile device with up to 10 records, without sync, sharing, the browser extension or the web vault. That is enough to test the product, but not to use it as your main password manager.
- Keeper’s business add-ons are priced separately:

What Keeper gives developers
Keeper Commander is, in Keeper’s words, a command-line and SDK interface to the Keeper platform. It is open source. You can use it to:
- access your vault from a terminal
- onboard users and import or export data
- run reports and build custom automations
It installs as a binary on Windows, macOS and Linux, or through Python, .NET and PowerShell setups.
Keeper Secrets Manager is aimed at infrastructure secrets such as API keys, database passwords and certificates. Keeper describes it as zero-knowledge, and it lets Jenkins, GitHub Actions and other pipelines pull secrets at runtime instead of storing them in repos. On the business pricing table it is an add-on for the Business and Enterprise plans, not something included by default.
What NordPass gives developers
NordPass has no CLI and no secrets manager. What it does well:
- storing credentials, API keys and secure notes in an XChaCha20-encrypted vault
- sharing them across a team, with folders on Business and subfolders on Enterprise
- email masking to keep your real address off sign-up forms
If you mainly need somewhere safe for credentials and API keys and want your team to actually use it, that covers it. If you want export DB_PASS=$(...) in a deploy script, it doesn’t.
Security incidents
Keeper. Keeper states it “has never been hacked.” It publicly disclosed a browser-extension vulnerability found by a researcher in 2017, says it fixed the bug within 24 hours of confirming it, and says no customer data was compromised. Its security-advisory page on the October 2023 Okta breach says Keeper does not use Okta internally and was not affected.

Does Keeper have a free plan in 2026? Yes, but it is limited. After the 30-day trial, it works on one mobile device with up to 10 password or passkey records, and has no browser extension, web vault or sync.
Is NordPass cheaper than Keeper? For individuals and families, yes. NordPass Premium is $1.39–$1.99/month on promo terms versus $3.58/month for Keeper. For businesses, Keeper is cheaper at the entry tiers ($2 and $4 per user versus NordPass’s $3.59+ Business plan).
Does NordPass have a CLI or API? NordPass doesn’t list a CLI. Its Enterprise plan includes an Activity Log API and integrations with Splunk and Microsoft Sentinel.
What is Keeper Commander? It’s Keeper’s open-source command-line and SDK interface. It covers vault access, admin tasks such as user onboarding and import/export, reports and automation. On Keeper’s business pricing table, CLI/TUI access is listed on the Enterprise plan.
Is BreachWatch included with Keeper? No. BreachWatch is a paid add-on: $26.99/year for a personal account, or $24 per user/year for businesses. NordPass includes its Data Breach Scanner in Premium and Family.
Which is more secure, NordPass or Keeper? Both use zero-knowledge, client-side encryption with modern ciphers (XChaCha20 vs AES-256). Keeper publishes more certification and pen-testing detail. Neither vendor has an official breach disclosure affecting customer vaults on the pages we checked.
