Hostinger Review 2026: Real Prices, Renewal Costs and Who It's For (Updated Sept 2026)

Note: This review is based on Hostinger’s own pricing pages and plan comparison, checked on September 27, 2026. We did not run long-term speed or uptime benchmarks, so there are no invented test numbers here. Hostinger changes promo prices often, so confirm on their site before you buy.

Short answer: Hostinger is one of the cheapest ways to host a WordPress site, a small business site or a handful of static sites, as long as you prepay for 48 months. The real cost is the renewal price, which is roughly 3–4x the headline number. Developers running Node.js, Python or anything that needs a long-running process are better served by Hostinger’s VPS or a platform like Render or Railway.

The inode, PHP-worker and RAM limits matter more than “unlimited websites.” A busy WooCommerce store or a site with lots of uncached traffic will hit PHP-worker and CPU limits long before it runs out of storage.

Hostinger’s hPanel includes these on its shared plans:

That is enough for standard WordPress and PHP workflows.

What shared hosting doesn’t do well:

For Node.js: managed Node.js web apps are available on Unlimited (5 apps) and Cloud Startup (10). The plan cards also mention Node.js on Premium, but the comparison table doesn’t list any web apps for it, so check before buying Premium for a Node project. For anything beyond a simple app, see our best hosting for Node.js apps guide.

VPS renewal prices shown are for a 2-year term.

Compare the renewal prices directly: KVM 1 renews at $11.99/mo, barely more than Premium’s $10.99. It gives you 4 GB of RAM, root access and Docker. Cloud Startup renews at $25.99/mo for 4 GB of RAM on a managed shared stack.

FAQ

Is Hostinger really $2.99 a month? Only on the Premium plan with a 48-month term paid upfront ($143.52). It renews at $10.99/mo.

Does Hostinger have a money-back guarantee? Yes, 30 days. Hostinger’s terms say refund-related payment claims must be made within 30 calendar days of purchase.

Can I host a Node.js app on Hostinger? Yes. Unlimited (5 apps) and Cloud Startup (10 apps) include managed Node.js web apps, and the VPS runs anything. Shared hosting isn’t a good fit for apps that need background workers or WebSockets.

Does Hostinger include SSH? Yes. SSH, WP-CLI, Git integration and SFTP are available in hPanel on its web hosting plans.

Is Hostinger good for WooCommerce? For a small store, Unlimited or Cloud Startup works. Watch the PHP-worker limits (60 and 100). A store with steady traffic and lots of uncached checkout pages may outgrow shared hosting.
